POST 60 LEASING AND CATERING


The Cascade American Legion, Post 60, is a non-profit volunteer organization that serves the community of Cascade. We have a large building with a great hall measuring 40 feet wide and 80 feet long. Our facilities have been leased for a wide range of different events, fundraisers for local or out-of-town organizations, funerals, weddings and wedding receptions, birthdays, anniversaries and gatherings just to have some fun. We can seat and serve over 200 persons within the great hall; we have in the past been able to accommodate seating for nearly 250 for large funerals or public meetings. Our full service bar (no draft beer) and lounge serves a full compliment of beverages staffed with trained bartenders. Our kitchen facilities have recently been renovated and we can cater a wide range of meals at reasonable prices. Tom Bacon is the Post’s caterer and he can provide you with all the details and costs for whatever kind of meal that you may desire, his contact number is 208-863-5963. There is an audio/visual system in place for rent if desired. We have parking lots on either side of the main building and a marquee located next to Highway 55 to post information concerning upcoming events.



We are located at 105 E. Mill St. in the large white building with the green roof and flags in the front, on the East side of State Highway 55. Our mailing address is American Legion, Post 60, P.O. Our fee to rent the Hall is $175.00 per day, there is a $50.00 fee to use the audio system and an additional fee of $50.00 to use the overhead projector and screen. These fees are subject to the state’s 6% sales tax. We charge a flat rate of $100.00 for the cleaning fee. We do require that you guarantee a minimum of $100.00 in bar purchases in order to open the bar/lounge area. There is no fee for the kitchen staff or bartenders, as we are all volunteers. We do have a tip jar whose proceeds all go to our Valley County Veterans Assistance Fund. Our Post also serves as the Valley County Veterans War Memorial and we have an array of historical displays honoring our residents who have served.



Our calendar fills up pretty quickly so we advise folks to reserve their events as early as possible. We operate on a “first come-first served” basis and once your event has been booked on our calendar no other event can bump it. When one of our leasing agents has met with a customer and drawn up the lease we usually require half down and payment of the other half the day of the event. We can be flexible in this arrangement. For the members of our Post we will provide the Legion Hall free of rental fees, except for the mandatory cleaning fee and food catering expenses, for events such as family reunions, anniversaries and birthday parties.
